In the by-elections, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham (pictured) won the Makerfield seat for Labour. The Aberdeen South seat was won by Conservative MSP Douglas Lumsden, while the SNP’s Lara Bird held onto the Arbroath and Broughty Ferry constituency for her party.
Martin speaks to Liz Lloyd, former chief of staff to Nicola Sturgeon, and Scottish Labour MSP Paul Sweeney about what the results mean for Scottish politics.
